Richard "Dick" H. Butler, 74, of Camanche, Iowa, passed away peacefully at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa after a brief battle with Leukemia on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Richard was born April 3, 1943 in Eagle Grove, Iowa son of Harry Francis Butler and Bernadine Doyle-Butler. Richard owned and operated Camanche Air Conditioning for 47 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening and growing beautiful plants and flowers proudly displayed in his yard.
Richard is survived by three brothers; William Butler, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Robert Butler (Gloria) Camanche, Iowa; and James Butler (Jonette) Atlantis, Florida. One daughter, Becky Butler, Ankeny, Iowa. Three grandchildren; Joshua Bard (Belinda) Davenport, Iowa; Stephanie Brungardt (Joshua) Ankeny, Iowa; Brooke Gehler (Ben) Spencer, Iowa; and five great-grandchildren. A special Friend Linda McConaughey, his kitty Mimi, and many special nieces, nephews, god daughter Megan Wicks of New York, friends and neighbors.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
