Arlina Pearce

On Saturday, March 2, 2019, Arlina Pearce, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 61.

Arlina was born May 28, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa to Allen and Thelma (Blackwell) Jenkins.  

On October 4, 1980, she was united in marriage to Ron Pearce from Mason City, Iowa.  They have a daughter, Stephanie, and two grandchildren, Nyla and Pearce.

Arlina had a passion for cooking and was great at it.  She loved to host and entertain her family and friends every chance she got.  She also loved to travel.  Most recently she had been to the British Virgin Islands and also toured Ireland, Wales and England.  Arlina learned how to play golf and grew to love the sport in order to spend more time with her husband.  

Arlina was best known for her assertive nature, her infectious smile complete with dimples and her generous and compassionate spirit.  

She is survived by her husband, daughter, grandchildren, mother-in-law, DeEtta (Nemmers) Pearce, sisters, Leslie (John) White, Marilyn Marbley and brothers, Allen “Butch” Jenkins and Bruce (Dorothy) Jenkins.  

A memorial service will be held for Arlina on Saturday, March 9th, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church located at 206 SW Walnut Street in Ankeny at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you direct memorials to the Bidwell Riverside Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
